The Democrat Party Period (1950-1960) as Reflected in the Stories of Aziz Nesin

The subject of this thesis is to show how the events which took place during the Democrat Party (DP) period in Turkey (1950-1960) were reflected in the short stories of Aziz Nesin. First, a short summary of Aziz Nesin's life is given based on his own memories and the reminiscences of people close to him. Second, an overview of the single-party period is given as a background to the foundation of the Democrat Party, followed by the important events of the Democrat Party period. Finally, the DP period is analyzed under topics which appear in Aziz Nesin's stories.
