JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: Ataturk Institute for Modern Turkish History Two Assistant Professors, 20th Century Turkey
Boğaziçi University’s Atatürk Institute for Modern Turkish History now invites applications for two full time/ tenure track assistant professor positions to begin in Fall 2019, pending administrative approval.
We are seeking recent PhDs or early career scholars whose research and teaching focus on the 20th century Turkey. The substantive research area is open but preference will be given to candidates whose research focuses primarily on the economic and social history of Turkey. Knowledge of the neighboring areas in addition to Turkey is a plus. Applicants must have completed or plan to have their PhD in social science, history or related fields by August 1, 2019 the latest. A strong record of research at the international level as well as a solid agenda for future research are expected.
The Atatürk Institute offers MA and PhD degrees in modern history and contemporary Turkish studies and is known for its rigorous graduate education and top-level students. The language of instruction is English. Successful candidates will be expected to teach graduate level courses.
